This person will travel to all INL locations, including our desert sites.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Develop fabrication travelers for the INL Fabrication Enterprise by identifying and including manufacturing specifications. Coordinate across all applicable disciplines, including fabrication shops, engineering, Quality Assurance, ES&H, scheduling, procurement, subcontractors, and others.* Responsible for the planning, assembly, and issuance of fabrication work control documents* Works with customers to understand their design requirements and transfer that information into easy-to-follow fabrication steps for the performers (machinists, welders, inspectors, etc.)* Provide technical expertise and is a recognized technical authority in fabrication processes. Uses an in-depth knowledge of manufacturing to plan the fabrication of complex designs.* Relied on to ascertain the best processes and techniques to produce the desired outcomes.* Provide project cost estimating and support in estimating project delivery schedules.* Assist the manufacturing teams in balancing the overall workload across the enterprise.* Responsible for collaborating with all necessary subject areas to ensure fabrication requirements are met.* Provides imaginative, thorough, and practical solutions to technical problems, and improvements in fabrication efficiencies. Demonstrates creativity, self-motivation, competence, and mastery of fabrication processes.Minimum Requirements:Baccalaureate plus 2 years experience OR 10 years relevant experience in lieu of degree.This position is required to obtain and maintain a DOE "L" Security Clearance.* Must possess and maintain a valid state driver s license.* Possess the ability to communicate effectively in writing and through verbal dialog.* Perform assigned duties with limited oversight from management.* Expert skills in the fabrication process, must be familiar in the use of all major machine shop equipment including the use and programming of computer numerical control equipment.* Knowledge of welding and other manufacturing processes beneficial.* The individual may be required to work special shifts or weekends in support of program or project needs.* Proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite is required.Certifications: Testing Designated Position (TDP)Surveillances: n/aINL is a science-based, applied engineering national laboratory dedicated to supporting the U.S. Department of Energy s mission in nuclear energy research, science, and national defense.
