Electrical Engineer - BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWSR) - Idaho Falls, IDBWSR is the overhaul Program Subcontractor at the Naval Reactors Facility in Idaho Falls, ID. The main project areas at the site include remediation of historical research facilities, characterization of site-infrastructure to support ongoing maintenance and construction.Your Day to Day as an Electrical EngineerPerform detailed electrical engineering in support of construction, facility modification, and infrastructure upgrade projects at NRF.Prepare and revise work procedures, calculations, electrical drawings, and related technical documentation.Provide engineering support for electrical power distribution systems, equipment modifications, and facility improvements.Ensure assigned engineering work complies with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and site requirements.Support multidisciplined project teams and coordinate with operations, project management, safety, radiological controls, environmental, procurement, quality, and other disciplines.Conduct field walkdowns, technical reviews, troubleshooting, and engineering evaluations in support of project execution.Review drawings, specifications, vendor submittals, and other technical documents for adequacy and compliance.Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and engineers from other disciplines, as needed.Required QualificationsBachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering program and a minimum of four years of engineering experience.Power systems engineering experience.Experience preparing electrical drawings, engineering packages, work procedures, calculations, and technical documentation.Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards, including NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, IEEE, and other applicable industry standards.Must be a U.S. Citizen; dual citizenship is not permitted.Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “L” security clearance; current clearance is a plus.Must obtain and maintain Radiological Controls and other qualifications as directed by Naval Reactors.Preferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer license from Idaho or any other state is highly desired.Previous experience in DOE, naval nuclear, or other highly regulated environment is desirable.What We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits package, including health, dental, and retirement plans.Professional development opportunities, including mentorship programs and sponsorship for continuing education.An inclusive atmosphere that celebrates new perspectives and supports collaboration between different generations.Opportunities for continuous learning and training to grow throughout your career!Pay: $86,000- $136,000The base salary range for this position in Idaho (US-ID) at the start of employment is expected to be between $86,000 and $136,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
