Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Receiving Distribution/Inventory Tech to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY:

The Receiving Distribution Tech ensures that the supplies received by shipments match the packing slips, accurately receive the items in the computer system. Clear-up and receiving discrepancies that accounts payable needs help with. Maintains the goal of inventory control by accurately pulling and check orders. Maintains a safe, clean work environment by cleaning the warehouse and/or hospital. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Hospital.

Inventory Clerk: Responsible for preparing cycle count aisles, taking physical counts, recording counts, and recounting variances within the assigned cycle count area

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receiving Distribution Tech:
  1. Is directly responsible for receiving all medical and surgical supplies for the hospital. Follows established computer guidelines for the hospitals information system.
  2. Maintains general stores and receiving area in a clean and safe environment for supplies to be received and inventories maintained following accepted guidelines.
  3. Is responsible for the handling of all trash and waste (i.e. packing material, boxes, etc.). Will bag in appropriate bags and follow established guidelines for infectious waste disposal.
  4. Follows proper procedures for handling hazardous waste materials.
  5. Delivers supplies from the receiving area to designated users in a timely manner.
  6. Responsible for all shelving organization and maintains all supplies off the floor and no closer than 18 inches below the ceiling sprinklers.
  7. Responsible for stocking supplies from the store room to supply rooms throughout the facility.

Inventory Clerk:
  1. Will organize merchandize, counting, tape/sealing open cases, labeling, and preparing areas for cycle count process.
  2. Will take manual physical inventory counts in assigned cycle count areas.
  3. Will record inventory counts on inventory sheets and then turn them in for data entry.
  4. Responsible for recounting and recording any and all variances within the cycle count areas.
  5. Actively works with cycle count team to improve inventory accuracy.
  6. Actively works with other departments to help meet departments demand.
  7. Follows written or oral instructions, works well with others, and presents a neat appearance and pleasant manner.
  8. Other duties as assigned by the materials manager.

Qualifications

Education/Certification: High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience: Six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Equipment/Technology: Ability to use and operate basic computer functions, basic scanning and copy machine usage.

Ability to use pallet jack, forklift, and hand truck

Language/Communication: Ability to write in either e-mail or note form clearly and legible, or verbally explaining any receiving issue to accounting or to the vender. Must know how to use proper phone etiquettes.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, in all unites of measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Demonstrates a good knowledge of inventory and receiving functions.

Mental Capabilities: Ability to follow direction and make independent judgment decisions.

Interpersonal: Ability to work with others

Performance: Ability to work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines
