Position Summary:

The packaging specialist is responsible for the physical packaging in the warehouse. This includes unloading the packaging from the delivery truck and notating discrepancies between what was physically received and what is indicated on the bill of lading. This person is responsible for the organization, storage, and daily delivery and put away of packaging to the line. In addition to these responsibilities, you will conduct monthly inventory counts and weekly cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy. To succeed in this role, you must have attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a hard work ethic.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Regular and consistent attendance are a must
Demonstrate knowledge of the packaging industry and products
Provide exceptional customer service and support
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effectively collaborate with Management, Sales, Marketing, and Quality Assurance team.
Participate in internal and external audits

Required Skills / Competencies:
Excellent and precise data entry and typing skills.

  • Must be able to drive a forklift

Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to keep information confidential.
Ability to work independently.
Able to speak Spanish and English is a plus

Experience: Experience in packaging industry preferred

Skills/Qualifications
Must be able to effectively speak, read and write in English
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Basic math skills
Stand for long periods of time
Lift a minimum of 50lbs.
Work in cool environments
Able to speak Spanish and English is a plus
High school diploma, technical school education, or equivalent experience

Expected Hours of Work:
This position requires approximately 40 hours per week, as needed, to meet the demands of the business and complete the responsibilities of this position

Work Environment:
Duties and responsibilities are performed in a warehouse setting
Loud noises

Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods of standing or walking
Exposure to temperatures of approximately 42 degrees in the warehouse
Ability to speak to and hear other employees and vendors via phone or in person
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
