Position Summary:

The Project Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and completion of strategic projects across the credit union. This individual will lead project governance, standardization, and reporting practices, aligning project outcomes with the credit union's mission, regulatory requirements, and long-term objectives. The Project Manager will work closely with stakeholders across departments to drive cross-functional collaboration and delivery excellence.

Schedule: Approximately 40 hours within a Monday through Friday work week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Governance & Oversight
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project management standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Establish governance frameworks to monitor and evaluate project progress, risks, and impacts.
  • Ensure project alignment with strategic goals and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Portfolio & Program Management
  • Manage the credit union's project portfolio and ensure optimal resource allocation and prioritization.
  • Track project performance metrics, budgets, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Provide regular reports and dashboards to executive leadership.
  • Team Collaboration & Leadership
  • Support and coach project managers and department leads on best practices and tools.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in project execution and stakeholder engagement.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental coordination to minimize risks and address roadblocks.
  • Risk & Change Management
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee change control processes to manage scope, timelines, and cost variations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as the liaison between project teams, department heads, and executive leadership.
  • Ensure clear communication and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • PMP® (Project Management Professional) or a similar project management certification is strongly preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management or PMO roles, preferably within financial services or a credit union environment.
  • Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects.
Skills:
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, or similar).
  • Familiarity with credit union operations, compliance, and regulatory environments is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Occasional travel between branches or to external meeting sites.
  • Ability to attend and actively participate in meetings, presentations, and training sessions both virtually and in person.
