We are hiring a Head of HSE

In this key leadership role, you will oversee the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) strategies at our Buenos Aires terminal. You will ensure full compliance with local legislation, corporate standards, and industry best practices to safeguard people, property, and the environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety and environmental objectives aligned with APM Terminals' global standards.

  • Conduct and supervise risk assessments and operational procedures, recommending actions to minimize potential incidents.

  • Lead emergency preparedness planning, response strategy development, and training of relevant personnel.

  • Design and manage induction and training programs for staff and contractors in HSE areas.

  • Establish and report KPIs and management indicators to local and corporate teams.

  • Investigate incidents/accidents, issuing detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions.

  • Represent the company before government agencies on safety and environmental matters.

  • Manage departmental budgets, contractor relationships, and contribute to insurance and claims processes.

  • Supervise and develop a high-performing HSE team, promoting collaboration and continuous learning.


What We're Looking For

  • University degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of experience in senior HSE roles, preferably in industrial, port, or logistics environments.

  • In-depth knowledge of local and international safety and environmental regulations.

  • Strong skills in risk management, emergency response, and hazardous material handling.

  • Experience interacting with local regulatory authorities and managing contractor compliance.

  • Effective leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities.

  • Advanced English required.
