As a Building Maintenance Specialist I at Bonneville County, you can expect a variety of tasks that keep our facilities in top condition. You will be responsible for conducting preventative and routine maintenance, and respond to service requests with professionalism and efficiency. Your schedule will typically be 40 hours a week; flexibility may be required to address urgent maintenance issues.
You will also perform a variety of entry level semi-skilled carpentry, masonry, locksmith or painting duties as needed to complete daily building and facilities maintenance, construction and renovation in compliance with approved plans and building codes. You may perform custodial duties such as vacuuming, floor stripping and refinishing, carpet cleaning, dusting, auto scrubbing, etc. on an as needed basis.
To be successful as a Building Maintenance Specialist I at Bonneville County, you will need problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication is vital, as you will interact with various team members and the public, conveying maintenance issues clearly. The ability to prioritize tasks will help you manage the demands of the job efficiently. Additionally, the role involves hands-on work with a variety of physical activities, generally involving muscular strain, walking, standing, stooping, sitting, and reaching. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate power tools and equipment.
Lifting requirement includes ability to regularly lift in excess of 100 pounds.
Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts or in outside weather conditions.
A basic understanding of building systems, such as plumbing and electrical components, will support your ability to diagnose issues quickly.
