What You Will Do:

As a Part-Time Retail Pet Associate, you will play a vital role in creating positive experiences for pet parents and their beloved pets. You will assist with store maintenance, uphold pet safety standards, and provide loving care to the pets in our store.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Delivering exceptional customer service through in-person interactions, phone calls, and online queries.
• Greeting pet parents and addressing their questions throughout the store.
• Preparing online orders for in-store pickup to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
• Providing direct care for store-owned pets, including feeding, watering, and maintaining clean habitats.
• Maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the store.
• Assisting with product staging and ensuring sales floor standards are met.
• Promoting and selling merchandise, services, and pets.
• Administering store-owned pet medications per veterinarian guidance.
• Participating in special events, such as adoption weekends and community charity events.
• Ensuring a safe environment for associates, pets, and pet parents.
• Taking action when a sick or injured pet is identified.
• Working flexibly across various areas of the store as needed.
• Contributing to a culture of belonging and recognition.
• Following all company policies and procedures.

What We Look For:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• The ability to stay calm and effective under pressure.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Must be able to stand, walk, climb ladders, and use hands for various tasks. Frequent reaching, bending, and lifting are also required.
• Must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 100 pounds with assistance.
• Exposure to moving parts, wet environments, and live animals is common. A moderate noise level is typical, with occasional higher volumes.
