A Brief Overview

As an Automotive Technician Apprentice, you will undergo training to become a skilled auto glass technician. Upon completion of our training program, you will earn the Safelite SafeTech certification and acquire essential skills for performing glass repairs, replacements, and recalibrations independently. We value a positive attitude, a caring mindset, and a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

What You Will Do

  • Enjoy paid training while learning the Safelite way through hands-on and classroom instruction.
  • Assist in the installation and repair of auto glass.
  • Learn how to recalibrate automotive safety systems and conduct diagnostic tests.
  • Provide additional services and products to ensure customer safety.
  • Study and pass evaluations to become a certified Safelite Technician, demonstrating proficiency in installations.
  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles, utilizing provided tools and chemicals essential for the job.
  • Perform additional duties as needed and comply with all company policies.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license required.

Experience Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to stand for long periods, and work in tight spaces while bending and twisting.
  • Proficient in using various hand and power tools safely.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle in compliance with laws and agreement to be monitored by in-cab safety technology.
  • Maintaining professionalism and a passion for outstanding customer service.
  • Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working with chemicals, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Flexibility in working hours to meet customer needs.
  • Proficient in using computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting.
  • Adept at problem-solving and working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Professional appearance in accordance with company dress code and PPE policies.
  • Ability to maintain performance under pressure and adapt to productivity measures.
