Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a Technologist Assistant to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY: The Technologist Assistant is responsible for assisting the Radiologic Technologist with patients during the imaging process. The assistant will be one of the first contacts for patients, physicians, and other medical staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

1. In a professional and friendly manner, answers incoming phone calls, facilitates scheduling of exams, dispenses exam preparations and instructions, and responds to general imaging questions.

2. Assist Technologist with proper and comprehensive patient screening prior to examination.

3. Assists Technologist with having patients change into gowns (when necessary), screen patient and document, transport patients, and answer questions and prepare the patient for imaging procedures to make sure the patient is comfortable and at ease during the imaging process.

4. Reviews physician orders and verifies we have all previous images used for comparison.

5. Assists in accepting and processing incoming images from other facilities to use as comparison.

6. Assists with documentation for appropriate patient information necessary for exam interpretation and patient care.

7. Assists the schedulers, technologists, and other coworkers in the department as needed.

8. Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as a part of the department/team to facilitate the hospital and department's ability to meet its goals and objectives.

9. Troubleshoots technical problems and works with the vendors to resolve problems that arise.

10. Maintains flexibility as department grows with willingness to accept additional responsibilities requested by department director.

Please note benefits are based on eligibility according to full-time, part-time or PRN status classification.

Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Must hold or obtain current BLS.

Experience: 1-3 months experience preferred, but not required.
