The Monument is looking for a Prep Cook to support our culinary team during events like concerts, sporting events, banquets, and concessions. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to grow their skills in event-based food service.As a Prep Cook, you'll handle the essential behind-the-scenes tasks that keep our kitchens running smoothly-preparing ingredients, stocking stations, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting cooks during service. This is a part-time role with a schedule that may vary from week to week. Hours are assigned based on department needs, and the position does not include a guaranteed weekly hour commitment. If you're dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, this role is an excellent entry point into a culinary career.What You'll Do* Prepare ingredients including chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, portioning items, and baking frozen products.* Set up and stock stations with ingredients, utensils, and supplies before events.* Follow prep lists and recipes to ensure consistency and quality.* Support cooks during service by replenishing ingredients and supplies.* Assist with unloading, organizing, and storing food deliveries.* Label, date, and store food items according to safety guidelines.* Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workspace.What We're Looking For* 18 years of age or older* Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred, but training is available* Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation (preferred)* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment* Strong communication and time-management skills* Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs* Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during eventsWork EnvironmentThis role works primarily in a commercial kitchen or concession setting with exposure to heat, steam, and cooking equipment. Work is active and fast-paced, with frequent standing, bending, and lifting.
