Mechanic InternAMATIdaho Falls, Idaho, United StatesJob ID: 524573Position OverviewAs a Mechanic Intern, you'll work in the shop, learning the repair and maintenance practices necessary to keep our equipment fleet operating safely and efficiently. You will gain experience with a wide variety of equipment, and learn about inventory management, safety regulations, and work order processes.You Can ExpectHands‑on experience with different types of heavy equipment.Opportunities to work on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.Training on the use of work orders, inventory systems, and vehicle condition reporting.Exposure to state and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA, MSHA).A fast‑paced environment where you'll work closely with experienced mechanics.What You Will DoAssist with the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, including loaders, graders, pavers, dump trucks, and trailers.Help with the work order process, from creation to completion.Learn to troubleshoot mechanical issues and conduct preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment.Support inventory management and track vehicle condition reports.Become familiar with safety regulations and compliance requirements for the fleet.RequirementsEnrolled in a Technical College degree program.Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and possible overtime.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Diesel experience highly preferred.Current CDL or ability to obtain CDL preferred.Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
