Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Histology Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: ASAP Duration: 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 9 hours, days Employment Type: Travel TRAVEL HISTOLOGIST TECH (732) DAYS SHIFT : 0500-1330 or 0930-1800 Idaho Fall, ID 13 WEEK ASSIGNMENT, 36 HOURS HTL certification from ASCP is required (not just HT cert) MUST BE A CERTIFIED HISTO TECH (HTL) WITH (QIHC) IMMUNOHISTOCHEMISTRY STAINS AND TROUBLESHOOTING OF PROGRAMS AND PROTOCOLS. 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN HOSPITAL SETTING REQUIRED MUST BE FLEXIBLE Unit Information: Lab – Histology Location: 3100 Channing Way Idaho Falls, ID 83404 Floor: 1st Building: Main Hospital General Information Tell us about the unit(s): · Number of Beds - · Number of Staff – 2 FTEs · Type of staff: o Day Shift – 2 Histotechs o Night Shift - None Type of equipment – 2 Roche Benchmark Ultra IHC stainers, 1 Roche Special Stainer, 3 Sakura tissue processors, 1 – Thermo fisher Embedding system, 4 – Thermo Fisher slide labelers, 1 – Sakura H&E Stainer/Coverslipper, 4 – Leica Microtomes Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Embedding Perform Microtomy IHC Experience Special Stains Managing/troubleshooting staining instrumentation Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first. Experience working with little supervision higher certification (HTL) with more extensive training which allows them to do Immunohistochemistry stains and troubleshooting of programs and protocols List typical procedures performed on unit(s): · Logging incoming tissues · Embedding tissues · Cutting tissue for staining · Place slides on staining equipment · Filing slides and cassettes Best personality Fit: · Independent individual with the ability to multitask · Professional · Good sense of humor/Easy going · Good attitude amidst a stressful work environment REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: · HTL - /> Dress Code: · Scrub Color/Attire – Charcoal grey, or business casual underneath a lab coat.
