Job Details

  • Position: Histology Technician (Histo Tech)
  • Location: Idaho Falls
  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks
  • Shift: Day Shift
  • Schedule: 5x8
  • Experience Required: 2 Years
  • Weekly Pay: $1800 to $2000

Responsibilities

  • Prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination according to laboratory protocols
  • Perform embedding, microtomy, staining, and coverslipping procedures
  • Operate and maintain histology laboratory equipment
  • Prepare routine and special stains as required
  • Ensure specimen integrity and accurate labeling throughout the testing process
  • Maintain quality control standards and comply with laboratory regulations
  • Assist pathologists by preparing high-quality slides for diagnostic review
  • Document laboratory activities accurately and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Follow infection control, safety, and laboratory compliance guidelines

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Laboratory Science or completion of an accredited Histology program
  • HT or HTL certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Histology Technician experience
  • Knowledge of tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining techniques
  • Familiarity with laboratory quality assurance and regulatory standards
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment
