Warehouse Associate IThe Warehouse Associate I is responsible for a wide range of tasks including loading, unloading, sorting, staging, and transporting products, and shipping returns. Individuals in this position must have the ability to become certified and operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.Essential DutiesPrepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship, process ERP transaction)Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store, process ERP transaction)Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits. Monitor, analyze and reconcile discrepancies with inventory controlsKeep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilizationReport any discrepanciesCommunicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkersFollow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulationsInspect goods for defects and damagesResolve issues at the warehouse level.Required Skills and AbilitiesAbility to multi-task and complete assignments with quality, especially handling competing demands and aggressive timelinesKnowledge of warehousing and logistical ERP transactionsBasic math skillsStrong work ethic with a professional, positive attitudeFlexibility - not easily frustratedA strong safety focusCreative problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal communication skillsAn innovative, goal-oriented and results driven approachReliability - at work each day and on timeGood organizational and time management skillsAbility to communicate in both the written and spoken language of English to a level that will allow the safe and effective performance of the job.Education and ExperienceMinimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required6 months of warehousing/logistics is preferredProficiency in inventory software, databases, and systems is preferredFamiliarity with modern warehousing practices and methods is preferred.Physical RequirementsConstant standing, walking, talking, hearing, and use of hands and feetFrequent lifting up to 100 lbs., reaching, crouching, stooping, and kneelingWarehouse environmentStrong scents, extreme temperatures, and frequent loud noises.Driver RequirementsThis position may require up to 20% travel between location and vendor sites by use of company or personal motor vehicleMust maintain a valid driver's license, be a minimum of 21 years of age, and ability to hold a minimum personal auto liability insurance limit of $300,000 per accident, and $100,000 personal propertyRequired to pass MVR check with relevance to Volm Companies Insurance policies.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
