The City of Idaho Falls is accepting applications for positions of Instructor Aide/Ice Guard for the fall and winter seasons, October 1st through April 5th. These positions will be responsible for assisting with Learn to Skate classes. It is anticipated that these positions will work 5 to 15 hours per week, multiple evening weekend shifts.
Essential Functions: This position will require some or all of the following activities: Support the Learn to Skate instructor by taking attendance, helping students who need extra assistance, demonstrating skills for the instructor, and leading the class in any games or drills. The aide/Ice guard will also be expected to work public skate sessions and assist with handing out skates, assisting the public, ice guarding and clean-up after the session. It is necessary for the individual to have strong skating skills. Position requires availability to work, days, evenings, and weekend shifts. Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Final candidates will be subject to a background check prior to employment.
Work Environment: Tasks require variety of physical activities, generally involving muscular strain, such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, lifting, etc. (moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally moving up to 80 pounds). Talking, hearing and seeing essential to the performance of the job. Daily exposure to weather extremes and seasonal conditions. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity exist. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, discriminating thinking. Frequent local travel required in normal course of job performance.
Pay Range: $12 - $16.00
