Aspen Developmental Services is seeking Developmental Disabilities Specialists to join our team of service professionals caring for children with developmental/intellectual disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, in their schools, community, and at their homes.

An intervention Specialist can deliver habilitative skill building, behavioral intervention, and crisis intervention. An intervention specialist must be an employee of the agency and be under the supervision of a clinical Supervisor who is observing and reviewing the direct services performed. Supervision must occur twice monthly, or more often as necessary, to ensure the intervention technician demonstrates the necessary skills to correctly provide the intervention. Provisional status is limited to a single eighteen (18) successive month period.

Minimum Requirements:

The qualifications for this type of provider can be met by the following:

A. Must have a bachelors or master`s degree in a social science or be an individual who is currently enrolled and is within twenty-four (24) semester credits, or equivalent, to complete their bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution in a human services field and working towards meeting the experience and competency requirements; and

B. Must complete Intervention Specialist competency course work approved by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to demonstrate competencies related to the requirements to provide intervention services. This free training can be found at https://autismpartnershipfoundation.org/courses/rbt/

C. Must be willing to work for the full school year and as school calendar requires.

D. Able to maintain a mild to moderate activity level and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

In this role you will:

· Provide functional and behavioral intervention and assist the child to complete their IEP goals.

· Complete assessments in collaboration with the Supervisor

· Collect data and graph progress

· Provide a safe teaching environment

· Encourage the child's successful developmental growth and acceptable social behaviors through reinforcing appropriate behaviors.
